All volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation at the Hubbs Center (2 hours).

In additon, for those interested in tutoring, a tutor training is required and provided by the Minnesota Literacy Council (MLC).

The Minnesota Literacy Council (MLC) provides a comprehensive training program for new and active tutors. Take a look at the pre-service trainings and in-service workshops that will help you become a successful tutor.  For more information and a current schedule, click on this MLC Tutor Training link.

Classroom Assistants may attend any of the MLC trainings, depending on which is most appropriate for the placement (Ex. If assisting in an ESL class, attend the ESL training). For those interested in assisting in a classroom, there is now an online training opportunity if the live training does not fit with your schedule.
