Reading, Writing, GED or Math Tutor
Tutor adults in basic reading, writing, math, or GED skills in a one on one or small group setting on site. Tutors are responsible for their own lesson plans, however, most of the time, homework help needed and learners bring materials from their classes.
English Language Learning (ELL) Tutor
Tutor English language skills to refugees and immigrants in a learning lab (homework help) or one on one setting on site. Tutors are responsible for their own lesson plans, however, much of the time, learners bring materials from class.
Citizenship Tutor
Assist learners in preparing for their English and American government/history exam to become a U.S. citizen. Tutoring takes place in one on one or small group setting. Tutors are responsible for lesson plans, but teacher is available as a resource. Individual tutoring is arranged at other times, day and evening hours on site. Tutors assist with practice naturalization interviews.
Volunteer in the Classroom
Assist Adult Basic Education instructors in the classroom or learning lab. Subjects and classrooms vary: math, English, writing, ESL, basic skills, computer, citizenship, GED etc. Individualized, small group, and large group instruction.
Daytime Classes Monday - Friday: (summer session hours change)
Various hours throughout the day from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (one or two-hour classes).
ELL Classes are held: 8:30 - 10:30, 10:30 - 12:30, 12:45 - 2:45, 2:30 - 4:30, and 12:30 – 4:30. Some 1 hour, also.
Evening Classes are Monday - Thursday:
5:00 – 7:30, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Also, outreach sites: 6-8 p.m. M – TH.
